Hong Kong Polytechnic University Showcases U.S. Ingredients at Hands-On Workshop and Educational Seminar To promote U.S. ingredients to Hong Kong’s next generation of chefs, ATO Hong Kong organized a two--day hands--on workshop at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Poly U), a global leader in hospitality education. The workshop attracted 600 student registrations for the 60--slot program in which students learned about U.S. ingredients from industry representatives and were guided by Poly U instructors in the preparation of six recipes.

September 3 - 5, 2025  

American Produce Shines at Asia Fruit Logistica 2025! On September 3, U.S. Deputy Consul General, David Schlaefer joined ATO Hong Kong to inaugurate the USDA-sponsored USA Pavilion at Asia Fruit Logistica 2025, Asia’s largest trade show for fresh fruit, vegetables, and tree nuts. This year’s pavilion featured 12 U.S. exhibitors and over 80 U.S. and regional representatives from U.S. industry, offering a wide range of agricultural products, including apples, citrus, grapes, pears, cherries, blueberries, pistachios, potatoes, plums, olives, and dates. To support the delegation, ATO Hong Kong led participants on retail and wholesale market tours, provided a briefing on the region’s markets for fresh fruit, and alongside colleagues from FAS China and FAS Bangkok, connected U.S. industry with key buyers throughout the show.

ATO Launches U.S. Beef and Wine Promotion at Ruby Tuesday With support from U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF), ATO Hong Kong collaborated with Ruby Tuesday to promote an exclusive U.S. steak menu throughout the month of September. Ruby Tuesday, which opened its first restaurant in Hong Kong in 1995, has growth to operate 10 outlets, making Hong Kong the largest overseas outpost for the U.S. based restaurant group. As part of its 30th anniversary celebration, a special menu featuring Certified Angus Beef© ribeye with optional California wine pairing is available at all stores, as well as a promotional offer of a U.S. Butcher's Steak at select outlets.

RAC Hosts California Raisin Seminar for Hong Kong Baking Industry On April 29, the Raisin Administrative Committee (RAC) held a bakery seminar for 26 professionals from Hong Kong’s growing baking sector. During the event, a guest chef and bartender demonstrated the creative and versatile applications of California raisins, emphasizing their healthy attributes and natural sweetness. The U.S. is the top supplier of raisins to Hong Kong, accounting for 82 percent of total imports in 2024.

ATO and U.S. Industry Partner for Hands-On Bakery Workshop at Hong Kong Polytechnic University On April 3, 2025, ATO Hong Kong partnered with U.S. Wheat Associates, U.S. Dairy Export Council, and Raisin Administrative Committee to conduct two bakery workshops at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Sixty students attended the hands-on workshops, which highlighted U.S. wheat flour, cheese, and raisins across four recipes. In addition to baking exercises, students also learned about each ingredient through presentations by U.S. industry representatives. The training, part of a series of collaborations ATO has held with PolyU, was attended by the Consulate’s Public Diplomacy section who showcased the collaboration to its 97,262 followers on social media.
